What is Grief?
Grief is the emotional distress caused by loss, and can include a wide spectrum of emotional reactions such as fear, emptiness, sadness, guilt and anger. Grief is commonly joined to death, however grief can also happen during major life transitions such as caring for an ill parent or partner. We do not always have spaces to authentically express the impact of loss.
In the midst of grief we can feel overwhelmed and, at times, as though we have lost the person we once were. I deeply appreciate the courage and strength it takes to venture into exploring grief and its impacts.
